The Licensed Practical Nurse Resource Centre was created by Russell Sawchuk of Steppingstones Partnership Inc. LPNnet was developed and is managed in consultation with various LPN Colleges / Associations across Canada.
LPNnet was established as a demonstration and research website. We want to provide LPNs with the opportunity to see and try the latest technology tools for learning and self assessment. At the same time, we want to learn as much as we can about how these online tests and tutorials work. The data we gather, along with our experiences here, will enable us to better utilize technology to ensure that LPNs continuously maintain and enhance their professional competencies.
Since 1998, Steppingstones has been working with Alberta Health & Wellness to develop Continuing Competence Programs for the regulated health professions. We have helped prepare comprehensive Competency Profiles for over 15 different professions. We have also assisted health professions Colleges to create assessment tools, learning plans / records and software to manage their competency programs
Steppingstones has now helped to develop detailed Competency Profiles for Licensed Practical Nurses in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland / Labrardor. In addition, we have installed our competency management software system for the College of LPNs of British Columbia, i.e. http://www.bclpncms.com/
If you have any questions or concerns about this website or Steppingstones, please contact your provincial LPN College / Association. If you would like more information about this website, or would to make some suggestions, please feel free to e-mail or phone me.
Thank you
